| A SW:TOR Wish List | |

![]() Welcome back to another installment of The Blog Unleashed. This time around rather than speculate about what we might see in SW:TOR I've decided do something a little different. I've come up with a list of the ten things I'd most like to in the game. This list is presented in no particular order. 1. The Galaxy at a Glance: Planet hopping is a sure thing in SW:TOR. Which is why I hope we'll have access to a map of the galaxy like the one used in Mass Effect 2. Not only did that map look amazing but it also helped keep track of missions. With the publication of The Essential Atlas last year the layout of the SW galaxy has been pretty well spelled out so incorporating it wouldn't be that hard and would be a huge thrill for the hardcore fans. 2. Customize Everything: While BioWare are no slouches in the area of character customization I recently checked out Star Trek: Online and was really wowed by the level of customization you can do with not just characters but ships as well. The game also sports very nice selection of outfits characters can wear. I'm a bit of a clothing addict in WoW and would get a kick out of being able to paint my spaceship my old school colors so I hope SW:TOR is taking notes. 3. Name That Voice: BioWare has a good track record with the voice actors in their games and in recently years we've been lucky enough to see an influx of name actors, many of them with real geek credit under their belts, in BioWare games. For those who haven't been keeping track, we've been treated to having people like Micheal Hogan (Battlestar Galactica), Kate Mulgrew and Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), Cluadia Black (Farscape), Yvonne Strahavski (Chuck), Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Gargoyles), Seth Green (Family Guy, Robot Chicken) and Martin Sheen (The West Wing) in just the Mass Effect games and Dragon Age: Origins. Having Lance Henriksen (various Aliens movies and Millennium) do the voice of Gnost-Dural in the promo videos would seem to be good sign. 4. May The Force Be With Everyone: In older SW games you could start out as a Scoundrel, Scout or Soldier who was Force-sensitive and later become a Jedi/Sith. I'd like to see Force-sensitivity stay an option for those who don't want to be a Jedi or a Sith. How awesome would it be to play a Smuggler who could jump like Qui-Gon or Bounty Hunter who could shoot Force Lighting? 5. Not the Only Game in Town: The Jedi and Sith aren't the only Force-using groups out there and I'd really like to see them in the game and maybe even have it be possible to join such groups. The blaster-lovin' Gray Paladins, the nihilistic Sorcerers of Rhand, the martial arts-based Shapers of Kro Var and the wickedly sexy Night Sisters would all be fine choices. 6. Fist of the Death Star: When all else fails just punch the guy! A decent unarmed combat system would be nice and the possibility to focus on unarmed combat would be even better. The blandness of it all is one of the reasons I don't care for unarmed combat in WoW but I think BioWare can do better. 7. You Sank My Star Destroyer: Ship to ship combat is another fun aspect of the SW universe I hope to see in SW: TOR. I was really impressed by how this was handled in Star Trek: Online so at the very least we know the programing for such combat exists. 8. Excite Bike: Swoopbike racing was popular in the Old Republic and notable personalities of that time such as Zayne Carrick and the Jedi Exile were skilled hands at it. Racing of any kind is always popular so I think that this would be a great side game for players of all factions to engage in. 9. Home is Where the Trophy Case Is: Years ago my cousin showed me his “house” in EverQuest. Since then the idea of my characters having a place to call home and that they could decorate to their own tastes has always appealed to me. It's the same if I get a place where I can keep trophies of my accomplishments. I've had lots of fun playing around with that sort of thing in games like Fallout 3, Bully, Skies of Arcadia and, of course, The Sims. I could see the player's personal cabin on their ship as a good choice for such things. 10. Dead Or Alive, You're Coming With Me: Why should Bounty Hunters have all the fun? Make it possible for everyone to hunt down people for credits. It would be fun and a great way to play with moral choices. A Jedi might hunt someone with a bounty of their head down to bring them to justice and not care a bit about the reward. But what if the person in question had a good reason for what they did. What if they're willing to exchange information about Sith activity in exchange for their freedom. Clouds the waters a bit, doesn't it? How much, if any of this, might make it into the game. Who knows? But a man can always wish. ![]() |
