Playable Races Rant

Why I think Togruta are a playable race

I've seen in some shots of gameplay a Togruta jedi and even a Kel Dor jedi.  I don't know if these are NPCs or PCs, they were still images.  What I'm wondering today is; Are they our racial choices and why is Bioware in love with these races?

We see Togruta in almost every page of their webcomic.  They are those orange humanoids with the horns growing out of their heads.   Well, not just orange, it seems that the male in the webcomic is purple.  How many colors are these humanoids?  I'm not mad, just kind of befuddled as to why Togruta are a favored race. There doesn't seem to be anything interesting about them besides the skin color and the horns.  At least Twi'leks have the elvish feel where everyone wants to sleep with one. Yes, Shaak Ti is an amazing Togruta and you loved fighting her in Force Unleashed, but Ahsoka Tano is a Togruta.  Any race that produces Ahsoka is bad in my opinion.  Sorry LucasArts, but Ahsoka should be filed away with Jar Jar in the bad ideas section.

Kel Dor Smuggler? Bounty Hunter?

The other race is the Kel Dor.  Kel Dor are the red skinned gas mask wearing humanoids you see every so often in the Bioware video documentaries and all over the website.  The most known of the Kel Dors is Jedi Master Gnost-Dural, the man speaking in the Timeline videos and Jedi Master Plo Koon from the movies.  They are a strange race.  Kel Dor need a gas mask to protect themselves from an oxygen rich environment, so taking them out is easy, remove the mask!  Also, the Kel Dor sexes look the same.  I have yet to see anything about their females, and being female I want a race that has a female playable side.  So there are females, but they look exactly the same.  Admittedly, it is written in the Wookiepedia that the Kel Dor have heightened reflexes and some telepathy.  That would be some cool racial abilities.

Twi'leks are another race that is seeming to be a playable race in SW:TOR.  There was a chic in the cinematic trailer and it's the Twi'leks.  Twi'leks are elves in a fantasy setting, you always gotta have an elf at some point.  Twi'leks have the lithe body type, the interesting head pieces (tendrils), and they can sleep with humans.  They also come in fun colors for the whole family to enjoy: blue, yellow, green, and even red!  Twi'leks are a science fiction version of elves.

If you like these races, that's okay.  I would like to play a driod assassin, maybe even a regular old human assassin.  Aside from the Twi'leks, these races that Bioware is dancing with are just strange choices to me.
