Summary and goals
The Strategic Defence Initiative is a European based, military themed, Republic guild. Our goal is to create a semi-realistic military environment for light RP and squad based PvP and PvE. While all members are expected to show at least monthly activities, there is room for active and less active members.

Ranks

The SDI has a dual ranking system to balance merit ranks with functional ranks. You can earn awards by doing tasks for the guild in your own time. This will also award you points to level up your proficiancy rank (0 to 7) . However, your authority and role within the guild is mostly governed by your functional rank.(E, NCO, O, FO) The combination of these 2, creates your main rank.

Government

The guild is commanded via a chain of command. If the guild grows larger, sub-divisions will form that are lead by Flag Officers. However, each member is allowed to elect or be electable for president. The president is the formal head of the SDI. While the Admiral will always remain the Guild Leader for day to day decisions, the President sets the mandate for the SDIs actions. Also, the Admiral must have Presidential approval for certain actions, such as engaging in guild wars and kicking a member.
